If you plan to enter the competitive powerlifting or weightlifting scene, you are absolutely going to need to pick up a singlet. Based on our personal experience with powerlifting, we have provided you with some of the best choices that are readily available.

We carry a few different brands of singlets. We carry the Inzer Advance Designs singlet and we also carry the SBD Powerlifting and Weightlifting singlets. Both brands of Powerlifting singlets are International Powerlifting Federation approved for competition.

The singlets are meant to be worn form-fitting and as such we recommend following the sizing guide for each product. Remember that a powerlifting singlet must be worn in all International Powerlifting Federation competitions. This also applies to the Canadian Powerlifting Union and the provincial affiliates.

    FAQs

Most meets require a singlet on the platform, and IPF and CANPL meets in Canada require a non-supportive lifting suit for every lift. For your first meet, order early so you can practice in it, since showing up without one can turn a long day into a last-minute scramble for powerlifting competition singlets.

In the IPF, your singlet has to come from a brand on the current Approved List, so a random wrestling suit from Amazon might get rejected at equipment check. If you lift in another federation, the rules can differ, but picking from Inner Strength Products’ powerlifting competition singlets keeps you in the safe zone for IPF and CANPL meets.

Under IPF rules, your singlet needs to be one piece and snug, the straps must sit over your shoulders for every lift, and you wear the same singlet for squat, bench, and deadlift. You also wear a t-shirt under it in Classic lifting, and the suit can’t give extra support, so read the product notes and pick powerlifting competition singlets from approved brands.
