Powerlifting Straps

11 products

A good pair of lifting straps belongs in everyone's gym bag. We carry a range of lifting straps both nylon lifting straps, and leather lifting straps. We also carry them in multiple styles: powerlifting straps, weightlifting straps, as well as velcro lifting straps.

Lifting straps are used to increase grip strength while weightlifting. They are commonly used for deadlifting as well as power cleans and snatches.

A good pair of deadlift straps will last you many years and come in handy.

    FAQs

Most people reach a point where their grip gives out before their legs and back do, especially when you start pushing top sets, high-rep deadlifts, RDLs, and heavy rows. Powerlifting straps let you hold the bar longer so you can train the target muscles and build volume, and since most meets don’t allow them, train as heavy as you can strap-free (especially if you plan to compete) to keep building real grip strength.

For most lifters, a simple lasso-style strap is the easiest to learn; it tightens as you pull, and you can get off the bar fast if a rep goes wrong. Inner Strength Products carries leather and fabric powerlifting straps, plus velcro options, so you can choose a softer feel for higher reps or stiffer leather when you want a firmer wrap on heavy pulls.

Wrist pain usually comes from wrapping the strap across the wrist joint or cranking it so tight that the bar pulls on the bones, and your grip gets pinched too. Set our powerlifting straps low in your hand, wrap the tail around the bar, then keep your wrist neutral and snug it just enough to stop slipping; if pain returns, back off and get it checked.
