    FAQs

Aim for a heel and midfoot that don’t move around, with enough space up front so your toes can spread, since your foot pressure ramps up on heavy reps. Start with your normal size using the Notorious Lift size guide, and if you’re between sizes, most lifters do better going up and using the straps or laces to snug things down.

In the IPF, brands get “approved” for supportive gear like belts and sleeves, but shoes aren’t handled the same way. Instead, your footwear just has to follow the shoe rules like indoor sports shoes, weightlifting or powerlifting boots, or deadlift slippers, with a heel under 5 cm and a flat, unmodified sole. Our Notorious Lift shoes meet those specs, and the brand lists them as IPF-approved.
