LAST YEAR SBD ANNOUNCED THE SHEFFIELD POWERLIFTING CHAMPIONSHIPS, A NEW TYPE OF INTERNATIONAL POWERLIFTING FEDERATION EVENT, DESIGNED TO SHOWCASE THE STARS OF OUR SPORT IN A HIGH PROFILE EVENT WITH THE LARGEST PRIZE FUND IN THE SPORT’S HISTORY.

The event was to be the first of its kind in the United Kingdom, intended as a celebration of the sport and its history, the Sheffield 2020 Championship would have seen fierce competition. As a result of COVID-19 the 2020 Sheffield Powerlifting Championships could not go ahead earlier this year.
Around the world, many members of the powerlifting community were affected by the pandemic, and in light of that, we are announcing a collaboration with the IPF to support athletes.

All proceeds from the sale of the 2020 Sheffield competition shirt will go towards a fund supporting lifters who have seen their incomes affected by the global pandemic, and who wish to attend IPF World Championships in future years.
