Good quality shoe

Good construction, a hard, flat sole, and sturdy leather contribute to a stable platform for conventional deadlifting or squatting, and good lateral support for sumo deadlifting. The leather comes extremely stiff when new though, so expect to spend some time to break it in.

A great shoe...

For me, these are far superior to the wrestling-style of shoe also made by Sabo. They have a very wide feel, as if every part of your foot is flatly gripping the ground creating a strong and stable base from which to pull from. The sole is thick and tough enough to really plant your feet but not so thick as to sacrifice your pulling position. I used to pull in Nike high-cuts but I will never go back after finding these. They take a few sessions to mold to your feet and I wouldn't classify them as comfy but we're here to lift great, not feel great.
